Digital Footprint

What is digital footprint? Digital footprints is a bunch of data that you make while using the Internet, such as the websites that you visit, the emails that you send, and all the information you send to online services.

Digital footprints are created by entering data through the internet, sending email, and sending information via online services. For example, when you visit websites and log in, the web server also logs your IP address in which identifies your Internet service provider. That is not all they get, they also get an approximate point of your location. They also get a more personal aspect of your digital footprint with your search history which is saved in your search engine when you log in.

Corporations use your digital footprints in many different ways and reasons. They use it for identity protection, digital identity, privacy protection, digital footprints, to identify you, transactions, marketing, and last but not least, identity theft.

If your digital footprint is negative and/or not friendly it may change the way people react to you, people may even think less of you. Not only that, people may not want to introduce themselves to you. We must remember that it is important to keep in mind that your digital footprint doesn’t only affect you, it also affects everyone around you too.

Here are some strategies to creating positive digital footprints; fully understand digital footprint, self check your digital footprints, clean your footprints, pay close attention to private policies, continuously track your digital footprints.
